Getting started
This guide walks you through installing the app and completing the first-time setup wizard.
What you need
- A Shopify store with permission to install apps
- An e-conomic agreement (company) you can connect to the app
- Products in Shopify with SKUs if you sync products or orders with product lines (recommended)
Step 1 — Install the app from Shopify
- Install the app from the Shopify App Store (or your custom install link).
- Approve the requested permissions (customers, products, orders, etc.).
- The app saves a secure Shopify connection and prepares sync events for your shop.
After install, you are redirected into the app’s Setup wizard (unless you already completed onboarding).
For custom app distribution, Shopify may show an approval link first. If it does not return you to the app, open the app install URL for your shop afterward to complete the Shopify connection.
Step 2 — Setup wizard (five steps)
Open Integration home → Wizard setup, or go to onboarding when prompted.
| Step | Name | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Store connected | Confirms Shopify connection completed |
| 2 | e-conomic | Click Connect e-conomic and approve access in a new tab |
| 3 | Sync & documents | Enable Customers / Products / Orders; choose order document type |
| 4 | Rules & mapping | Customer/product rules; order trigger; optional field mappings |
| 5 | Review & activate | Review settings and click Activate setup |
Activate setup saves your configuration, marks onboarding complete, and updates Shopify sync events for your shop.
You can Skip wizard and configure everything later under Sync settings. Sync only runs according to your enabled rules.
Step 3 — Open the integration home
After onboarding, use Integration home to see:
- e-conomic connection status (Connected / Not connected / Revoked)
- Whether Customer, Product, and Order sync are enabled
- A snapshot of recent sync activity
Quick actions:
- Wizard setup — run or review onboarding
- Sync settings — per-object rules (Customer, Product, Order)
- Webhook logs — full event history and retry for failures
Step 4 — Fine-tune sync settings
For each object (Customer, Product, Order), open Sync settings and use the tabs:
- Rule sync — when to sync and business rules
- Default mappings — e-conomic defaults (groups, VAT, payment terms, layouts)
- Field mappings — how Shopify fields map to e-conomic fields
Save after changes. The app updates its Shopify subscriptions so new rules apply promptly.
Data flow (overview)
Shopify change
→ App checks your sync rules
→ App creates or updates the e-conomic record
→ Result appears in Webhook logs
Shopify is the master for customers, products, and orders in this version. Changes made only in e-conomic are not pushed back to Shopify.
Next steps
- Read What syncs (and what does not) before going live.
- Complete Connect e-conomic if step 2 failed.
- Configure Orders with your accountant (trigger and invoice vs sales order).
